Lacrimal bone |

The lacrimal bone is a small and delicate bone of the
facial skeleton. It is about the size of a small fingernail. It is located on
the anterior part of the medial wall of the orbit. It has two levels and four
borders. Several signs of the functioning bones of the lacrimal bone in the
tear or crying process. In particular, the lacrimal bone helps form the
naso-lacrimal canal necessary for tear migration. A depression on the
posterior inferior side of the bone, the lacrimal fossa, houses the
membranous lacrimal sac.
